戏剧英语开办的儿童 演讲、戏剧及语言艺术英语证书课程(Integrated Speech, Drama and Language Arts) 是為5岁或以上的学童,报考英国伦敦圣三一学院Trinity Guildhall 的 Speech and DramaSpeech Communication Arts 分级证书试而设计的课程。这两个考试的重点在英语的应用,要求学童能够在不同的场合,以适当的英语来表达和沟通;而并非死记硬背英语的生字词语。这是学习英语的大潮流,也是许多亚洲学生的弱点。考取Trinity Guildhall的Speech and Drama 或 Speech Communication Arts的分级证书,能让学员从一众已考取了一些普通英语证书的学生中显得鹤立鸡群,更受注意。

整个课程分为六级,一般学员需要约一年的时间去完成一级的课程。

Level ONE:
Integrated Speech, Drama and Language Arts
Level 1

After completion of this level, students will be able to take the Trinity Guildhall
Speech & Drama examination grade initial and grade 1
Speech Communication Arts grade 1.

  • An original, traditional or folk story told, or partially acted out, from memory.
  • A prose passage or short extract from a play performed from memory.
  • To introduce and speak a piece of verse or prose to a group from memory
Acting & Movements
  • A poem performed from memory.
  • A performance of a simple, prepared mime.
Interpersonal Skills
  • To make a personal introduction, listen attentively to whoever is speaking and respond to other members of the group.
Practical Speaking/Presentation Skills
  • To speak about a personal possession that he/she has brought in response to questions.
  • Able to have a conversation with the examiner about the chosen piece.
Creative Writing Skills
  • To provide a personal copy of the piece to be performed, decorated and illustrated if desired.

Level TWO
Integrated Speech, Drama and Language Arts
Level 2


After completion of this level, students will be able to take the Trinity Guildhall
Speech & Drama examination grade 1 and 2
Speech Communication Arts grade 2.

  • To introduce and speak a piece of verse or prose to a group from memory.

  • To make a personal introduction, listen attentively to whoever is speaking and respond to other members of the group.
Practical Speaking/Presentation Skills

  • Either a reading, selected by the examiner, from the student's own book or an informative story based on a picture provided by the examiner.
  • Able to have a conversation with the examiner about the chosen piece.
Creative Writing Skills

Level THREE:
Integrated Speech, Drama and Language Arts
Level 3

After completion of this level, students will be able to take the Trinity Guildhall
Speech & Drama examination grade 2 and 3
Speech Communication Arts grade 3.

  • A prose passage or a play extract performed from memory.
  • To introduce and speak a piece of verse or prose to a group from memory, clearly, audibly and with evident understanding.
Acting & Movements
  • A poem performed from memory.
  • An improvisation arising from one of the prepared pieces; the subject will be given by the examiner.
Interpersonal Skills
  • To introduce themselves to the examiner and present a study journal.
  • To listen attentively and respond to questions from the examiner and the group about the work they have presented.
  • To ask a direct, open question of at least one other member of the group.
Practical Speaking/Presentation Skills
  • To talk from personal experience about a hobby, interest or activity and respond to questions about it.
  • Either a reading, selected by the examiner, from the student's own book or an informative story based on a picture provided by the examiner.
  • Discussion with the examiner: during the course of the examination the student will be asked to demonstrate understanding of the prepared pieces and use of pausing, and emphasis, in the work presented.
Creative Writing Skills
  • To keep a study journal including a copy of the piece performed, with evidence of personal response to it, illustrated and decorated if desired.

Level FOUR:
Integrated Speech, Drama and Language Arts
Level 4

After completion of this level, students will be able to take the Trinity Guildhall
Speech & Drama examination grade 3 and 4
Speech Communication Arts grade 4.

  • A prose passage or a play extract performed from memory.
  • To read aloud to the group a prepared passage from a chosen book.
Acting & Movements
  • A poem performed from memory.
  • An improvisation arising from one of the prepared pieces; the subject will be given by the examiner.
Interpersonal Skills
  • To introduce themselves to the examiner and present a study journal.
  • To listen attentively and respond to questions from the examiner and the group about a passage they have read aloud and the book from which it comes.
  • To ask constructive questions about other students' work.
Practical Speaking/Presentation Skills
  • To describe and recommend the chosen book to the group.
  • Either a prose sight reading provided by the examiner OR the invention of a story using four words given by the examiner.
  • Discussion with the examiner: the student will be asked to demonstrate understanding of the prepared pieces, and their context where appropriate, as well as how phrasing and pace contributed to the performance of the work presented .
Creative Writing Skills
  • To keep a study journal including:
    • Personal response to the chosen book, which may include illustration and decoration.
    • Relevant information about the author or the background that extends the student's understanding of the book.
    • Lists of favourite books, writers and poems.

Level 5


After completion of this level, students will be able to take the Trinity Guildhall
Speech & Drama examination grade 4 and 5
Speech Communication Arts grade 5.

  • A prose passage or a play extract performed from memory.
  • To speak from memory to the group a piece of narrative verse or prose that includes direct speech from one or more characters
Acting & Movements
  • A poem performed from memory.
  • An improvisation arising from one of the prepared pieces; the subject will be given by the examiner.
Interpersonal Skills
  • To contribute constructively to discussion about different types of stories and storytelling.
Practical Speaking/Presentation Skills
  • To devise and tell an original complete story to the group based on a theme connected to the piece of narrative verse or prose spoken.
  • Either a prose sight reading provided by the examiner OR the invention of a story using five words given by the examiner.
  • Discussion with the examiner: the student will be asked to demonstrate understanding of the prepared pieces, and their context where appropriate, as well as how inflection and intonation contributed to the work presented.
Creative Writing Skills
  • To keep a study journal including:
    • Personal response to the piece performed.o Notes about speaking the piece, either by annotating the copy or as separate notes.
    • Description of one of the characters in the piece.
    • Background preparation, related information or creative writing developed in preparing the story.

Level SIX:
Integrated Speech, Drama and Language Arts

Level 6

After completion of this level, students will be able to take the Trinity Guildhall
Speech & Drama examination grade 5 and 6
Speech Communication Arts grade 6.

Expressive Speaking/Presentation Skills
  • An extract from a play written in or after 1956, performed from memory.
  • To speak a poem from memory to the group expressively, displaying an understanding of its meaning and form.
  • A passage of narrative prose, contrasting in mood with the above 2 items, performed from memory.
Acting & Movements
  • A narrative poem (whole or in part) performed from memory.
  • An improvisation on the play presented.
Interpersonal Skills
  • To contribute constructively to a group discussion arising from the work presented.
Practical Speaking/Presentation Skills
  • To give a talk on a social, cultural or environmental issue, using visual aids where appropriate.
  • Either a prose or verse sight reading provided by the examiner OR the invention of a story using six words given by the examiner.
  • A discussion with the examiner on the prepared pieces, including meaning, context and the author's output, and the contribution of the physical aspects of performance, such as breathing and relaxation, to the work presented.
Creative Writing Skills
  • To keep a study journal including:
    • A copy of the poem, with notes on its meaning and content, verse form, structure, vocabulary, poetic devices, interpretation and performance.
    • A personal response to the poem.
    • Relevant information about the author of the poem and her/his work.
    • Information and illustrations.
